Visual Arts Summer Camp 2025: Igniting Young Imaginations Through Art

07 April 2025

The Visual Arts Summer Camp 2025 at Knowledgeum Academy was a vibrant and enriching initiative, conducted in two batches, each spanning 10 days of immersive artistic exploration. Designed to introduce children to a wide range of visual art forms, the camp offered hands-on sessions led by experts, each specialising in a distinct artform. This structure ensured that every day brought a new experience, covering activities such as abstract drawing, clay creations, pottery, traditional and folk art, canvas painting, origami, face painting, interior decoration, and creative reuse through "trash to treasure" projects. Students were encouraged to explore their creativity while developing artistic skills and confidence. A notable highlight was the inclusion of different trainers each day, which gave learners the opportunity to learn from professionals with varied expertise.

The second batch highly benefited from experienced trainers who introduced more advanced techniques and deeper insights into each artform. As the camp progressed, visible improvements were observed in the participants' creative thinking, artistic ability, and enthusiasm for learning. The programme concluded with a final-day exhibition showcasing learners’ artworks, which was attended by families who appreciated the children's efforts and celebrated their accomplishments.

The feedback from the learners and the parents were overwhelmingly positive. Learners enjoyed experimenting with newer mediums and valued the opportunity to learn from professionals. Parents reported a noticeable boost in their children's artistic interest and skill, praising the camp’s balance of structure and creativity. Tutors, too, expressed satisfaction with the learners’ engagement and responsiveness.

Overall, the Visual Arts Summer Camp 2025 successfully fulfilled its mission of nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the arts.
