Roles and Responsibility:
  • Motivate, inspire, and encourage students toward improved CAS participation
  • Support students in the development of student-designed CAS work
  • Support various student CAS activities throughout the school
  • Ensure students are well informed about the CAS program and assist them in making informed decisions
  • Track student involvement in CAS
  • Confer with each CAS student throughout the two-year program (twice minimum in IB1 and once in IB2)
  • Track student involvement in CAS
  • Create a close relationship with the IB, TOK, EE, IGCSE, and CL/EL Coordinators to connect all aspects of student learning throughout the secondary school
  • Ensure up-to-date communication between the IB and CIS with respect to CAS requirements, key issues, and developments
  • Share current IB CAS trends and requirements with CIS teachers
  • Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to teachers involved with CAS
  • Maintain communication with parents, students, and staff regarding CAS
  • Be available to discuss concerns of IB teachers, parents, and students as the need arises Provide feedback to the Head of School/Principal and IB Coordinator
  • Promote and publicize achievements
  • Contact and organize outside agencies and individuals for CAS activities
  • Report student achievement to the IB, as required
  • Maintain and review student records.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate discipline.
  • Preferred experience with International Baccalaureate.
  • Fluency and accuracy in written and spoken English.
  • Should have attended workshops or completed professional training in CAS.
  • At least 5-7 years of full-time teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
  • Technological literacy that allows for a judicious, impactful, and creative use of technology in the classroom.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team, preferably in a multi–cultural environment involving both national and international staff.
  • Classroom management strategies and pedagogical practice that reflect values and educational vision of Eliciting Greatness.
